Our Young Women and Young Men 14 and older got to be a part of a 30 Stake youth Spectacular that Pres. Monson asked them to put on. They all started practicing for this in Feb 2010 and they performed it on July 17, 2010 at Weber State University football field. They did a rehearsal the night before and if you wanted tickets for sat. night, well you had to get them fast. This was a really hug production that they were doing, and a lot of people wanted to go and be a part of it.
Our friend Tonie and her kids were staying with us that week so they came with us. It was a lot of fun and VERY hot, I was 38 weeks pregnant with Ledger and it was so hard to sit that long ( for over 3 hours ) but it was so worth it to be able to watch as all of the youth were singing and performing, and you could feel the spirit and just know that this was such a great and wonderful thing that they were all apart of. They all complain for months that they had practice for this , and let me tell ya being the Secretary for our YW and making the calendars every month, well they were always having a practice. But it really paid off and I know that they all were glad that they had put in so much time. Kennedy was asked to be in another part and do ballroom dancing and then she performed with our ward and they were the here and now times. It went from the pioneers to now and how things are in our church. It is really hard to put into words all that they did and how it actually was. This was something that Heavenly Father wanted to happen and we were so blessed to be apart of it.
